Scott grew up in Ely, Iowa and now lives in
the Amana Colonies. He graduated from
College Community School District in 1980.
Scott married Kay in 2002. His proven
success and dedication in working with
customers started in 1980 in sales working
for a company in Cedar Rapids for 16 years.
Over the years he took on the responsibility
of managing a four state territory, taking
it from a stagnant 100k to 1 million dollars
in a 3 year period gaining customer trusts
in his ability to get the job done. His 24
years of personal experience in the
construction trade includes exterior and
interior home improvements and renovations.
Scott's passion for this lead to designing
unique and custom kitchens in 1996. His
passion continued to grow to meet the
expectations of even the toughest clients
over the years. Scott and Kay decided to
take their combined talents and start
Cabinet Specialties, Inc. in January 2003.
Scott and Kay spend their free time
enjoying their 280 Searay Sundancer that
they slip in Prairie du Chien on the
Mississippi river.
Our special attention to details has
taken Cabinet Specialties to a new level in
customer service, providing nothing but the
best for our clients. |

Lacey Schrader |

Lacey grew up outside of Ladora, Iowa. She graduated
from HLV High School, and then moved on to Kirkwood
Community College. She received her Associates
Degree in Interior Design in 2005. The day after
classes ended at Kirkwood she started at Cabinet
Specialties. There she began her internship
designing and quoting projects. From there she has
taken on more responsibilities such as ordering and
keeping track of projects, as well as in house
development. She knows most jobs in and out and can
help with any questions you may have. She enjoys
working on color selection and creating designs that
will satisfy any customer. She has been working for
Cabinet Specialties for four years and aims to be
helpful and as detailed as possible.
In her time off she enjoys spending time with her
husband Gabe and both of their families. She and
Gabe added on to their home in winter of 2008 using
products Cabinet Specialties offers, such as
Millbridge cabinets and granite countertops. |

Kay Spidle |

Kay grew up in Walker, Iowa and now lives in
the Amana Colonies. After graduating from
North Linn High School, Kay received her
Medical Secretary diploma from Hamilton
Business College. She has a full time
position at The University of Iowa as a
secretary at The Center for Biocatalysis and
Bioprocessing. She brings a wealth of
information from her current and previous
employers such as Accent Service Company, a
well respected accounts receivables agency.
This enables her to efficiently do the daily
accounts receivables/payables at Cabinet
Specialties, Inc. Kay has enjoyed
volunteering for her church and
participating in local charities such as Big
Brothers Big Sisters. Kay's special
interest includes continuing her education
as well as completing her pilot's license. |

Ashley Halter |
Interior Designer

Ashley grew up in Iowa City, IA. She graduated from
City High School. She then attended Kirkwood
Community College. There, she received her
Associates of Arts degree in 2005 and her
associate’s degree in Interior Design in 2007.
Ashley joined the team at Cabinet Specialties in
June of 2007. Her responsibilities include
developing new relationships, designing, and quoting
projects. The things she enjoys the most about
designing is working with customers, helping with
wood, color, and door selections, and creating
designs unique to each individual customer.
Ashley’s goal is that the details the homeowner
desires are met and that the space reflects their
style and personality, leaving them with a beautiful
and functional kitchen that they can enjoy for years
to come.
Ashley enjoys spending time with her family,
friends, and pets. Her interests include reading,
playing racquetball, and spending time outdoors. |
